About Me

Sean Malley is a Graphics Hardware Engineer currently working in the Visual and Parallel Computing Group at the Intel Corporation. As a member of the team focused on delivering tablet SoC solutions, Sean spends the majority of his time at work designing validation plans for upcoming hardware and debugging prototype designs for graphics accelerator units and display engines.

Prior to joining Intel, Sean was employed as an Engineering Intern at General Dynamics and then Orbital Sciences after an acquisition. As part of the engineering team at both companies Sean worked on the design and implementation of custom satellite control software, simulators and integration and test support for government and commercial satellites. Even though he's no longer currently working in the aerospace industry Sean continues to indulge his love of space and space exploration by following his favorite NASA missions.

Sean graduated from Arizona State University with an M.S.E. in Electrical Engineering and summa cum laude with a B.S.E in Electrical Engineering both from the Ira A. Fulton College of Engineering. In addition to completing his engineering degree, Sean also earned additional honors distinction from the Barrett Honors College after completing his honors thesis on instrumentation for high speed in-situ measurement of memristor states. While in his senior year Sean completed a capstone project studying the radiation hardness of HPs new memristor technology, the results of which were presented at the 2011 NSREC conference in Las Vegas. While in school Sean also became and remains a member of both Tau Beta Pi (The Engineering Honors Society) and Eta Kappa Nu (The Electrical and Computer Engineering Honors Society).

Outside of his professional interests Sean also enjoys photography and can frequently be found in a number of peculiar locations carrying his well-loved camera. A selection of Sean's older photos can be seen on his Flickr page.
